Well said, universities were invented as a way to gain knowledge and now that we have the internet and AI you can learn about just about anything on your own. Unless you are trying to become an MD, which still requires university, you might want to rethink going to university. It just seems like university has become a way to obtain a useless credential.

On another note, it frustrates me that universities offer degrees in philosophy, arts, and others I do not know where the only successful path is to be a professor of that subject.

Great read. As a parent of college age children, the value proposition feels incredibly uncertain.

I'd add that Signal also = network. Everyone I know who got a top tier MBA did it for the network, the learning was incidental.
